Join a dynamic, independent small animal practice in Oxford as a Registered Veterinary Nurse and become part of a supportive and growing team dedicated to delivering exceptional care. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated nurse with at least one year of UK-based experience, a strong communicator, and a diligent team player. A driving license and IT literacy are essential for this role.
At this practice, nurses are empowered to utilise their full range of skills daily, including schedule 3 procedures such as blood sampling, intubation, and IV catheter placement. Nurses engage in a variety of clinical duties, from running nurse clinics and managing internal medicine cases to participating in emergency care and surgical nursing, including anaesthesia. The practice is well-equipped with advanced tools such as a class 4 laser, multi-parameter monitors, Doppler blood pressure machines, EPOC, and an ECG machine, along with laparoscopic equipment when needed.
The practice boasts two operating theatres, a dedicated dental room, a diagnostic suite, and separate dog and cat wards, providing an optimal environment for high-quality care. The in-house laboratory offers comprehensive training opportunities for RVNs to expand their knowledge and skills in lab work. With a varied caseload that includes routine procedures, emergencies, and high-dependency inpatients, the role demands the ability to multitask and respond calmly and efficiently to urgent situations.
