This thriving small animal veterinary practice in South London is seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its experienced and friendly team. Established in the local community for more than 20 years, the practice continues to build strong relationships with clients and their pets while delivering exceptional standards of veterinary care.

The Opportunity
The successful Registered Veterinary Nurse will enjoy the variety and autonomy of general practice branch life, working closely alongside a trainee nurse and a veterinary surgeon in a rewarding and collaborative setting.
This role is ideal for an RVN who enjoys building lasting relationships with clients, supporting preventative healthcare, and becoming a familiar face within a loyal local community.
The practice is looking for an RVN who is eager to help re-establish and grow a close-knit client base while supporting colleagues in the day-to-day running of the branch. There will also be opportunities to run nurse clinics, helping to strengthen relationships with patients and clients alike.
As the sole RVN in branch, leadership development and training can be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for a veterinary nurse looking to expand their responsibilities and develop professionally.
The practice benefits from full support from a nearby 24-hour sister hospital, ensuring seamless referral of complex cases and out-of-hours care for patients. Additional operational and clinical support is provided by an experienced regional manager and regional head vet.
The Role
- Hours: From 32 hours per week
- Flexible working options: Full-time hours available with a split between South London and a nearby sister practice if desired
- Weekend rota:
- 1 in 3 branch Saturdays
- 1 in 10 Saturday rotation at the sister hospital
- Bank Holidays: 1 per year
- No on-call requirements
Key Responsibilities
The Registered Veterinary Nurse will play a key role in delivering outstanding patient care and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering a high standard of nursing care to patients
- Assisting veterinary surgeons in theatre and consultations as required
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient hospitalisation records
- Ensuring excellent patient comfort, welfare, and recovery care
- Cleaning, sterilising, and maintaining clinical equipment
- Managing stock levels of medications, diets, and consumables
- Supporting and mentoring trainee or student nurses as a clinical supervisor
- Assisting with induction and training of new team members
- Supporting reception duties where required, providing exceptional client care in person, via email, and over the phone
- Helping maintain a respectful, collaborative, and positive team culture

This well-established South London veterinary practice is conveniently located between two local train stations and easily accessible, just a 20-minute walk or 5-minute cycle away.
The practice prides itself on delivering exceptional veterinary care while maintaining a welcoming, supportive atmosphere for both staff and clients.
Salary & Benefits
The successful RVN will receive a salary of £35,000 – £39,000 FTE (based on a 40-hour week) depending on experience, with genuine scope for progression within the role.

Candidate Requirements
- Must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
- Passionate about delivering high standards of patient and client care
- Comfortable working in a branch environment and building client relationships
- Enjoys supporting and mentoring trainee/student nurses
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to excellent clinical standards
