A well-established small animal veterinary practice in Surrey is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its friendly and supportive clinical team on a full-time basis.
This thriving practice provides a wide range of veterinary services and is supported by a 24-hour hospital in Sutton, alongside a network of neighbouring practices. The wider veterinary team is highly collaborative, offering excellent clinical support, shared case discussions and ongoing professional development opportunities.
The practice features a welcoming and modern environment, including separate waiting areas for cats and dogs, two consult rooms, digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound equipment and an in-house laboratory. Conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from the local train station, the area also offers a variety of local shops and amenities to enjoy during breaks.
The Role
The successful Registered Veterinary Nurse will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient and client care while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
Responsibilities will include:
- Delivering outstanding patient and client care at all times
- Supporting surgeries and procedures, including all pre- and post-operative care
- Running nurse-led consultations and Schedule 3 activities
- Providing inpatient monitoring and nursing care
- Managing patient admissions and discharges under veterinary direction
- Supporting patient transfers to out-of-hours or enhanced care services where required
- Dispensing and checking medications accurately
- Ensuring compliance with all RCVS, practice and operational standards
- Supporting team coordination through briefings and effective communication
- Providing mentorship and support to colleagues where appropriate
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and team-oriented RVN with excellent clinical and communication skills.
Applicants should have:
- Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
- Experience delivering exceptional patient and client care
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Experience supporting nurse consultations and understanding their contribution to practice efficiency
- Confidence using coaching and influencing skills to support and motivate colleagues
- A positive, professional and compassionate approach to veterinary nursing
