Located in sunny Brandon, FL, this highly regarded practice serves an extensive region, including Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, and several other counties across Florida.
This mentorship-focused position is tailored for individuals eager to develop their skills in all aspects of equine care, including general practice, medicine, surgery, and emergency. The team is composed of skilled support staff and a group of highly experienced equine veterinarians, including boarded surgeons and a boarded internist, who are passionate about teaching and guiding the next generation of equine practitioners.
As part of the program, you will gain hands-on experience with a diverse caseload, both in the hospital and in the field, ensuring you are well-prepared for your future. Whether you aspire to pursue an equine surgical residency or transition directly into a general ambulatory practice, this role provides the training, support, and experience to help you achieve your goals. Interns are a vital part of the team, with responsibilities that grow as your skills increase.
We understand the importance of balance and personal time. Interns enjoy one night off-call per week, one three-day weekend off each month, five vacation days, and three days for continuing education. Living quarters are provided within a short distance of the clinic, allowing for convenience and focus on professional growth.
Applicants must have graduated from an AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine, passed the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination, and hold (or be eligible for) a Florida veterinary license.
