Mixed Veterinary Surgeon - Mullingar
An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, established practice for a maternity cover from December 2024
About the Practice:
The Veterinary Hospital is a busy mixed practice located in Mullingar. Located about 45 minutes from Dublin in the heart of the midlands, and accessible by public transport routes.
This friendly practice is made up of 4 full-time Veterinary Surgeons, 2 part-time Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Veterinary Nurses and 3 support staff. They are proud of their cohesive and well-established team. They work closely together in all aspects of our roles and believe that each member of our team is vital.
Key Highlights:
• Mixed Veterinary Surgeon 70% small/ 30% Large
• Full-time role 9am - 6pm with a 1 in 4 weekend rota and 1 on call per week.
• Competitive salary of up to €60,000, plus an attractive benefits package, based on experience
• Modern facilities including 2 fully equipped operating theatres, in-house lab, ultrasound, ECG, endoscopy, radiography, dental suite, and more
• A highly experienced team of 8 Veterinary Surgeons, including 2 certificate holders in cardiology and anaesthesia, alongside skilled nurses and support staff
• 1 in 4 weekend rota
The Role:
This is a mixed role, where you'll have the opportunity to work with both small and large animals. The position offers variety, hands-on experience, and the chance to be part of a forward-thinking team that values professional development. Whether you're experienced or early in your career, you'll receive full support and training to help you grow in your role.
What they're Looking For:
• VCI Registered Veterinary Surgeon eligible to work in Ireland
• SA Skills: Must be competent in basic, routine surgery (Cat & Dog spays, castrations, lump removals etc)
• LA Skills: Must be competent in Calving/Sections
• All levels of experience will be considered however must be able to perform the above procedures without support
The Package:
• 22 days annual leave, plus your birthday off
•€1300 CPD allowance annually, with 5 paid CPD days
• Funding for further qualifications (Certificates, Diplomas, PhDs)
