Are you a Veterinary Surgeon with a passion for poultry? A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join an independent practice in the stunning cathedral city of York as a Poultry Veterinary Surgeon. This role is primarily full-time, but part-time applications will also be considered.
Established in 2000, our client has continually expanded and, in 2010, moved to a new purpose-built facility that includes three consulting rooms, a dedicated sterile surgery theatre, and separate rooms for diagnostic imaging and dental procedures. The practice also operates a farmers' shop, providing a wide range of animal health products, medicines, and vaccines.
This RCVS-accredited mixed animal practice is located in a small market town near York, surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire Moors and the Howardian Hills, yet conveniently close to main road and rail networks. The practice has a substantial poultry and game bird client base, specialising in both intensive and free-range meat, table egg, and game production.
The new Poultry Veterinary Surgeon will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of poultry health management, from advising on disease prevention strategies and health planning to ensuring compliance with audit requirements. The practice is committed to providing exceptional service, enabling its clients to thrive in competitive markets.
You will be joining a team of 23 vets, including a growing poultry team of 3 veterinarians, technical advisors, and support staff. The practice also boasts a high-calibre field support team, including a biosecurity specialist.
All levels of experience are welcome, and new graduates are encouraged to apply, with support and training available for the right candidate.
If you are looking for a dynamic role in a supportive environment where you can develop your skills and specialise in poultry, we would love to hear from you.
