An exciting opportunity has become available for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a thriving, independent small animal veterinary practice in Cardiff. This forward-thinking veterinary practice is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and proactive veterinary nurse to become part of a friendly and supportive clinical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to develop their career within a modern independent practice that values clinical freedom, continuity of care, and exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced veterinary surgeons, a supportive Head Nurse, and a dedicated support team in a welcoming environment.
Importantly, this role offers an excellent work-life balance with no out-of-hours (OOH) or on-call requirements.
The Role
The successful Registered Veterinary Nurse will play a key role in delivering high standards of veterinary nursing care and client service. Duties will include all aspects of veterinary nursing within a busy small animal practice, including:
- Delivering high-quality nursing care from patient admission through to discharge
- Assisting veterinary surgeons with surgical procedures, diagnostics, and treatments
- Monitoring inpatients and ensuring gold-standard patient care
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and clear client communication
- Supporting stock control, clinical organisation, and maintaining practice standards
- Working collaboratively with the wider veterinary team to provide outstanding animal care
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will be:
- A qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS registered)
- Confident in all core veterinary nursing duties
- A strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organised, proactive, and able to remain calm under pressure
- Passionate about delivering exceptional patient and client care
- Committed to ongoing continuing professional development (CPD)
Salary & Benefits
The practice offers a highly competitive package, including:
- £28,000 – £33,000 salary dependent on experience (DOE)
- Loyalty bonus scheme
- No OOH or on-call responsibilities

- 3 days’ paid CPD leave plus £1,000 CPD allowance (certificate support available)
