The Opportunity
A well-established independent small animal veterinary practice in the Chorley area is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its experienced team.
They are happy to consider RVNs at all stages of their career. Whether you’re an experienced RVN looking for your next opportunity or a newly qualified nurse keen to develop your skills and confidence within a supportive, established team, they would be happy to hear from you.
There is plenty of flexibility around the working pattern. Full-time is 40 hours per week, which can be worked as either four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days. The practice is also very open to part-time hours or a job-share arrangement for the right person.
This is a great opportunity for an RVN looking for a role where they can become part of a sizeable, experienced clinical team while still having flexibility around their working week.
The Practice
The practice is an independent, RCVS-accredited small animal practice with a long-standing presence in the local area.
You’ll be joining a well-established team of 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 RVNs and 2 Animal Nursing Assistants, alongside a dedicated reception team. This appointment will bring the nursing team to 7 RVNs, providing a strong level of clinical support across the practice.
The practice offers a varied small animal caseload alongside a good range of diagnostic, medical, surgical and dental facilities, including:
- Digital X-ray
- Ultrasound
- Endoscopy
- Dedicated dental suite
- Sterile operating theatre
- Rangs of in-house laboratory equipment including blood smears
- Blood smear capabilities
- Equipment to support a broad range of medical and surgical cases
What They're Looking For
The practice is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse who is enthusiastic, compassionate and enjoys being part of a close-knit clinical team.
They are very open when it comes to experience level. An experienced RVN would fit well within the established team, but they are equally happy to consider a newly qualified RVN looking for a supportive environment in which to continue developing their clinical skills and confidence.
Most importantly, they are looking for someone who works well within a team and takes pride in providing a high standard of patient and client care.
The Rota
- 40 hours per week for full-time
- Choice of 4 x 10-hour days or 5 x 8-hour days
- Part-time and job share options available
- Minimal weekend work – mainly covering holidays for the permanent weekend team
- Weekend cover shared across the team, approximately 1 in 9 weekends
- No bank holidays – the practice is closed
