Description

Registered Veterinary Nurse – Swindon
Starting Salary: £26,000 - £30,000
A well-established veterinary clinic in Swindon is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a friendly and professional team. The clinic, with a commitment to high standards of patient care and professional development, offers an engaging and supportive environment for the right candidate.

About the Clinic:
• Accredited with a gold standard in small animal care
• Equipped with advanced in-house facilities to manage most cases, reducing the need for referrals
• A cohesive team of approximately 40, including over 15 in the nursing department, all supported by an efficient management team
• Recognised as a teaching practice with a strong culture of CPD and mentorship

Role Overview: The position is ideal for an RVN skilled in both surgical and consultative care, comfortable with a broad range of cases including Schedule 3 procedures. This role allows flexibility to shape a specialisation within the clinic, supporting individual growth and development.

Key Requirements:
• Quality of experience is highly valued, with a preference for several years in practice
• Additional qualifications are a bonus but not essential
• Strong client care skills and effective communication
• Willingness to mentor others, with the opportunity to become a clinical coach

Position Details:
• Hours: 4-day work week, 8:30 am - 7:00 pm with designated lunch and break times
• Weekend Rota: 1 in 5 for care of hospitalised patients; out-of-hours emergencies covered by Vets Now
• Holidays: 5 weeks annual leave, plus bank holidays
• Professional Memberships: VDS and RCVS memberships included
• CPD Allowance: £500 annually, with potential for additional funding toward certificates
• Additional Benefits: Staff discounts, performance-based annual pay reviews, and a company pension scheme

Desired Qualities: The ideal RVN is organised, compassionate, and enthusiastic, with a strong commitment to both animal welfare and client care. This role is perfect for a team-oriented individual who values personal and professional development in a supportive and collaborative setting.
