Registered Veterinary Nurse - Swindon
Starting Salary: £26,000 - £30,000
An established veterinary clinic in Swindon, with a proud history, is seeking a talented Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join the team. The practice, prioritises high standards of patient care, affordability, and continuous professional growth.
About the practice:
• Achieved gold-standard, for cat care
• In-house advanced facilities for comprehensive patient care, minimising the need for external referrals
• A dedicated team of up to 40 staff, with a nursing team of over 15, supported by strong management across the clinic
• A recognised teaching practice with a supportive, open culture and a focus on CPD
Role Overview
The position calls for an RVN with skills in both surgery and consultations, comfortable handling a wide range of surgical cases, including Schedule 3 procedures. With autonomy to shape your role, this position suits an RVN with a particular area of interest they wish to develop.
Key Requirements
• Quality of experience is valued over quantity, though several years in practice are preferred
• Additional qualifications are advantageous but not required
• Strong client care abilities
• Capacity to mentor within the nursing team, with a clinical coach option available
Position Details
• Hours: 4-day week, 8:30 am - 7:00 pm (includes lunch and breaks)
• Weekend Rota: 1 in 5 for hospitalised patient care, with OOH emergencies handled by Vets Now
• Holidays: 5 weeks plus bank holidays
• Membership Fees: VDS and RCVS membership included
• Professional Development: £500 CPD allowance annually, with potential for certificate funding
