Veterinary Surgeon – Aberdeen

  • Highly successful, independent small animal practice in the vibrant city of Aberdeen

We have an exciting opportunity for a small animal veterinary surgeon to join a truly independent practice in the stunning city of Aberdeen. With nearly 40 years of establishment, this highly successful practice has grown into a six-branch operation across Aberdeenshire. Each branch is personally run and dedicated solely to small animals, with three functioning as RCVS GP practices and the remaining three as core consulting practices. The practice also boasts two nurse training centres, reflecting its commitment to excellence in veterinary care.

We are seeking a dedicated veterinary surgeon to become a valued member of this welcoming team with immediate effect. This role is available on a full-time or part-time basis, offering flexibility to suit individual needs. The ideal candidate should have confidence in routine consultations and neutering procedures while demonstrating a keen willingness to learn and develop further. Full support is provided by senior veterinary surgeons, and the practice has recently achieved RCVS Vet GDP status, ensuring a structured and supportive environment for professional growth.

With a large and experienced support team, including a mix of seasoned vets and newer graduates—some of whom have been with the practice for over 20 years—this practice offers a wealth of knowledge and mentorship. The clinic is fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including digital x-ray, a dental x-ray machine, endoscope, arthroscope, Doppler ultrasound, and comprehensive in-house laboratory services, ensuring that the highest standards of veterinary care are maintained.

We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic veterinary surgeon who is committed to delivering excellent patient and client care. This role offers a flexible approach to work, promoting a healthy work-life balance. The position includes a 1 in 4 Saturday rota (8 am - 5 pm), with a day off in lieu the following week. There is no Sunday working, and no out-of-hours or on-call responsibilities, making it an ideal role for those looking for a balanced schedule.

The successful candidate must be RCVS registered and qualified, possessing the right to work in the UK. Strong communication skills, enthusiasm, and confidence in your abilities are essential. If you are looking for a supportive and well-established practice where you can thrive and develop your career, we would love to hear from you. Apply now for this fantastic opportunity.
