Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a role where you can make a real difference — while enjoying life in one of the UK’s most exciting cities?

Our client, a highly respected and successful small animal hospital located on the edge of vibrant Cardiff, is looking to welcome a new full-time vet to their close-knit team. Part of a long-standing organisation with over 100 years of experience in delivering expert, affordable care to pets in need, this hospital is driven by purpose, not targets.

You’ll be joining a team that blends a pragmatic clinical approach with a strong focus on client care, aiming for the best outcomes for both pets and their owners. Collaboration is central to their ethos — complex cases are shared, treatment plans are discussed, and everyone, from new graduates to seasoned vets, supports and learns from one another.

Inside the hospital, you’ll find a truly impressive set-up. With six consulting rooms, two theatres, a dedicated dental suite, imaging facilities including digital radiography, ultrasound and endoscopy, a large prep area and extensive orthopaedic equipment, you’ll have all the tools and space you need to do your best work. And just as importantly, you’ll be surrounded by a friendly, experienced team of Veterinary Surgeons, Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants and a supportive Head Nurse.

The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with a rotating shift pattern that typically falls between 8am–8pm. Most days run from 8am–4:30pm or 9am–5:30pm, and while there is an OOH commitment, the team has worked hard to ensure that sufficient downtime is built in to protect your work-life balance. They’re also happy to explore flexible working hours or days to accommodate your lifestyle and needs — a healthy balance is central to everything they do.

Personal and professional growth is fully supported. Whether you're interested in honing your surgical skills, stepping into leadership, or simply becoming the best all-round clinician you can be, you’ll find the mentorship and encouragement to help you reach your goals. And if surgery is your passion, you’ll have the opportunity to take a fair share of BOH cases across the team.
Outside of work, Cardiff offers something for everyone. Whether it's adrenaline-fuelled adventure at the international white water centre, shopping in the city’s mix of top brands and indie gems, soaking in the vibrant arts and food scene, or cheering on Welsh rugby at the Principality Stadium, you’ll never be short of things to do. And if you crave nature, you’re just a short trip from National Parks, coastal paths, and castles straight out of a storybook.

This is more than just a job. It’s a chance to be part of a purpose-led organisation that continues to provide expert care to pets and people who need it most. If you're looking for a role with heart, challenge, support, and a great quality of life — this is it.
