An amazing opportunity has arisen here at Purovets for a Veterinary Surgeon role at a RCVS accredited, independent practice in the coastal town of Fleetwood in Lancashire. The practice is only a short 5-minute stroll from the beach, which is fantastic as you can take your dog to work. Fleetwood is a beautiful seaside resort, a walk or bike ride from the promenade can take you along the length of the Fylde coast, where you can enjoy the stunning views of the Irish sea. There is lots to explore within the wild fells or riverside rambles of the nearby Forest of Bowland, along with easy access to Blackpool & Preston.
Our client is a RCVS Accredited Vet Nurse Training Practice. They are well-equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound with cardiac and linear probes, endoscope and in-house lab facilities including a Horiba PCR machine and a wide range of diagnostic tools. They are also signed up to Vet CT teleconsulting which has been a fantastic addition.
Our client believes in offering you the clinical freedom to work up your cases and care for patients with the help of a supportive team, including their vets - who have 20 years' experience under their scrub hats. They recognise that everyone has a different area of interest and can accommodate this into the working day, so if you prefer surgery to consulting, or vice versa they can absolutely accommodate this. Their strength is that they are small and independent so they can be totally flexible in both developing your career needs and also working patterns, everything is up for discussion.
You will be joining a friendly and experienced team of veterinary staff including 1 vet with a special interest in dermatology and surgery and another who is a UK parasitology expert and Head of ESCCAP (the European Scientific Council for Companion Animal Parasites). The team believe in a good work-life balance and getting home on time, so the days are carefully scheduled keeping the last appointments free for emergencies only. They also enjoy socialising together too, from practice meetings with a takeaway to getting together outside of work for a game of bowling.
