Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Swindon, Wiltshire

Up to £70,000 DOE + £2,000 CPD + Accommodation

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, independent practice in Swindon, Wiltshire. The Opportunity

Established in 1986, the practice provides high-quality, affordable primary veterinary care across three independent sites. The main clinic is exceptionally well equipped, allowing most cases to be managed in-house with minimal need for referral. It also includes a Gold Standard cat-only clinic.

The successful Veterinary Surgeon will enjoy a varied first-opinion caseload, combining consultations, medical work-ups and routine surgery. They will have the autonomy to manage cases confidently, including intra-operative complications and critical patients, while acting as a supportive senior clinician within the team.

The practice is a teaching practice with a 17-strong nursing team and an open culture that places real emphasis on CPD, teamwork and continuous improvement.

What They’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years' post-qualification small animal experience
  • Strong diagnostic and medical work-up skills
  • Confidence managing complex cases independently
  • Proven competence in routine surgery
  • The ability to manage intra-operative complications and critical cases
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • A supportive, motivational approach to teamwork and mentoring
  • A genuine passion for animal welfare and clinical development
