Purovets are working with a dedicated small animal practice established in 1999 that has since has grown to a four-site practice. They have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team!
Across their practices, they have modern, well-equipped facilities used by their excellent team. All practices are RCVS-accredited as an RCVS general practice and the main hospital holds Tier 3 accreditation and gold cat-friendly status. All branches have ultrasound, x-ray and dental x-ray, and the hospital has an endoscope, new ultrasound machine, DR x-ray, CT scanner and an in-house hydrotherapy and physiotherapy unit. They are also now able to accept orthopaedic, soft tissue surgery, medical, imaging, dermatology, ophthalmology and acupuncture referrals through their certificate holders.
They pride themselves on the level of support they are able to provide their vets; both the clinical director and senior vet are very approachable and passionate about supporting development. They have check-in meetings with their vets every three months, and CPD is encouraged both internally with their certificate holders and externally. They run a vets afternoon monthly meeting which focuses on clinical subjects and case sharing. The practice thrives in an environment of collaboration and teamwork, and they are supported by a fantastic group of people with a diverse range of interests and qualifications.
The role is based at the main hospital, with an average of one day per fortnight at a branch. The role is for 41 hours a week (full-time) with a minimum of 1 in 8 Saturdays (9am 5pm), the current rota is 1 in 10. There is no requirement for out-of-hours as they are a host practice for Vets Now. This role would suit a veterinary surgeon looking to progress in general practice and develop their skills further. This role could be suited to someone wanting to pursue or currently has a certificate.
You will be working in Worcester, a historic city in England that is renowned for its stunning cathedral, dating back to the 11th century. Steeped in rich heritage, it boasts picturesque riverside walks along the Severn, vibrant cultural events, and a thriving food scene, including its famous Worcestershire sauce. The city is well-connected by road, served by major motorways like the M5, facilitating easy travel to Birmingham, Bristol, and beyond. Additionally, Worcester's railway station offers frequent services to London, Birmingham, and other key destinations, enhancing accessibility.

- Salary up to £65,000 DOE
