Purovets is excited to announce an opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a fantastic, proudly independent client in the Middlesex area. This established practice includes a main hospital and two branch surgeries, offering a dynamic role split between the hospital and one of the branch locations.

The practice is known for its friendly, supportive environment, fully equipped with modern facilities such as ECG, digital x-ray, ultrasound, Idexx lab suite, Doppler blood pressure monitor, tonometer, and more. Our client has built strong, long-lasting relationships with the local community, with loyal clients and staff who have been with them for many years.

As part of a team of 7 experienced veterinary surgeons, including part-time colleagues with diverse interests, you'll be supported by a dedicated group of skilled veterinary nurses, enthusiastic student veterinary nurses, and exceptional support staff. This collaborative, nurturing environment is ideal for someone looking to grow and develop in their veterinary career.

The role is well-suited for a vet with at least 2-3 years of UK practice experience, as it involves some sole charge work at the branch practice. You’ll be confident in managing the fundamentals of surgery and medicine, though they are happy to consider a veterinary surgeon who seeks support with more complex cases or enjoys independently managing cases while benefiting from team collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

We are looking for a team player with a passion for learning, a good sense of humour, and a deep love for animals. Strong communication skills are a must, both when engaging with clients and working closely with the team.

The main hospital is located in a vibrant town on the western outskirts of London, offering the perfect balance between suburban serenity and the conveniences of city living. With scenic parks, rich history, and excellent transport links, this area is an attractive place to call home, offering a peaceful village atmosphere and easy access to the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

The Rota:
• Permanent/Full time
• 4 days per week with a share of long weekends off
• 1:5 weekend / Saturday Rota
• No on call
• As there is some travel between sites, a driving license is essential.

The Benefits:
• Salary up £60,000 per annum DOE
• £1500 CPD allowance
• Encouragement to study towards a certificate in addition.
• Help and mentoring available from senior vets
• Discounted veterinary treatment for your own pets
• VDS cover
• Accommodation (a self-contained flat above branch surgery) Not included but can be added
