Are you a passionate Veterinary Surgeon with a medical bias looking to thrive in a progressive hospital environment that blends high calibre first opinion care with referral level excellence? This is an exceptional opportunity to join a Tier 3 RCVS accredited hospital in the heart of Nottinghamshire, where a shared commitment to patient care, teamwork, and clinical development defines everything they do.
This independent hospital boasts an extensive, modern suite of equipment including a high end ultrasound machine, digital and dental radiography, endoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, electrocautery, laparoscopy, tonometry, a slit lamp, and more. Their in-house lab can run an impressive range of diagnostics including T4, SDMA, cortisol, bile acids, cPLI/fPLI, coags, and urine sediments, while also offering rapid cytology and haematology interpretation with access to Imagyst. With a planning application submitted for a CT scanner, the future promises even more cutting edge capability.
The large and experienced team includes 17 vets, 23 nurses, and 16 dedicated support staff. Many of the vets are certificate holders in areas such as Surgery, Internal Medicine, Anaesthesia, Ophthalmology and Dermatology, and several others are currently studying toward further specialisation. A medical interest is especially welcomed, and support for certificate study is actively encouraged and funded—this is a team that believes in investing in people.
With a hybrid approach that sits between traditional first opinion and referral services, this role is perfect for a vet who wants to stretch their skills and manage a varied caseload with the support of a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary team. Whether you're consulting, leading investigations, or co-managing complex internal medicine cases, you’ll have the tools and talent around you to make a genuine difference.
The area itself is ideally located, with excellent transport links and a lively local community. Enjoy riverside walks, excellent schools, green parks, and a vibrant high street — all while being just a short train ride from two major cities.
This is more than just a job — it’s a place to grow, collaborate, and be supported in delivering the best care possible!
